2008 DHFMR SCIENCE WRITERS & JOURNALISTS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM: The program, held at Harvard Medical School, from May 11 to May 16 was conducted by Dubai Harvard Foundation in association with the Harvard Medical School's Office of Public Affairs provided the attendees with the opportunity to increase the depth and breadth of their reporting on health care, medical innovation and scientific research(report).

Second annual Science Writers & Journalists Fellowship Program: Dubai Healthcare City, a member of Tatweer, and The Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research in collaboration with Dubai Press Club, announced the opening of the application process for the second annual Science Writers & Journalists Fellowship Program. Science, Tomorrow's Cures, was held on Sunday,
March 26th, 2006, in Dubai, UAE.
Applications from clinical investigators at theinstructor or assistant professor level are being solicited for the Doris Duke Clinical Scientist Development Award. The purpose of the Award is to provide support and protected time for mentored research to junior faculty members working in any disease area as they begin their careers as independent clinical researchers.
Harvard Medical School may nominate up to three candidates. In order to choose the nominees who will represent Harvard, an internal review will be conducted. For additional information please visit http://medapps.med.harvard.edu/fellowships/.

Monday, May 19, 2008:Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor Drives Medical Research by Committing Funds to Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research: Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor, Chairman of Al Habtoor Group has contributed AED18.35 million (US$5 million) to the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research (DHFMR) to support its efforts to raise the bar of healthcare excellence in the Arab world. The contribution will make Al Habtoor a founder member of the Dubai Harvard Foundation (News article).
DHFMR Seed Grant Program 2008: The DHFMR Seed Grant Program will make awards available to collaborative research initiatives that are in the conceptual or early stages of development. These awards are intended to encourage and support collaborations between HMS research centers or labs and their counterparts in the Middle East region at the beginning phase of their research partnership (link to Seed Grant page).
