DUBAI HARVARD FOUNDATION 2022 PRINCE ALWALEED BIN TALAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP RECIPIENT ANNOUNCED

The Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research (DHFMR) at Harvard Medical School is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2022 Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Research Fellowship.  The Fellowship recognizes talented young investigators from the MENA region and is intended to give recipients the flexibility to explore fundamental scientific questions and to lead to a better understanding of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. The Dubai Harvard Foundation received 70 applications for the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Research Fellowship representing 10 countries. The quality of all the submissions was extremely high and the Review Committee had a challenging task of making its recommendation to the Board of Trustees. 

 The recipient of the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Research Fellowship is: 

Dr. Aram Ghalali for his project:  Investigating the role of AZIN1 in Medulloblastoma development”.  Dr. Ghalali will be working with Dr. Michael S. Rogers in the Vascular Biology Program, Karp Family Research Laboratories, Boston Children’s Hospital.

DHFMR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP AWARDS

Over the past 15 years the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research has supported ten post-doctoral Research Fellowships in addition to four research center grants and since 2007 has funded over 300 students attending the HMS Post Graduate Medical Education courses and HMS Master programs.
